Erg. Stuff 'n' randomness.
I hate having to go to work when I'm reading a really good book! Almost missed my stop on the tube I was so absorbed. Has anyone else read A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers? I've only just started it, after being bullied into getting it for my friend's book group on Monday, but I can already tell I'll be finishing most of it in one sitting.
Oh, and someone's filled in that chart I posted about last night with an almost completely different set of characteristics to those I used to describe myself (save for one which we both chose). So interesting to see how we perceive our inner self, and what we project to others, and to observe the gulf which sometimes exists between concepts of self and persona. I particularly find ideas of introversion and extroversion interesting. I am a very contemplative person, often lost in my own thoughts, and I place a lot of importance on exploration of my inner world. However, I am also undeniably a real party animal - I enjoy and actively seek out the company of others on a regular basis. So which am I? Aren't most of us something of a combination of the two? Isn't it incredibly reductive to assume we're all one or the other?
